Medical Procedures: As a full service family practice clinic we offer a wide variety of services. Our clinics are equipped with minor surgery rooms for the treatment of lacerations, biopsies and other small surgical procedures. Appointments are necessary for small surgical procedures other than urgent procedures and liquid nitrogen treatment.
Staff: We are proud of our staff and are confident you will find them helpful and courteous. We have Registered Nurses and Medical Office Assistants on staff. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our clinic please let us know
Telephone Calls: Our phone lines are open from Monday-Friday, from 9:00 am-5:00 pm, and closed from 12:00-1:00 for the lunch hour. We would like to remind you that our phone lines are very busy and your patience may be required. Peak hours for our phone lines are generally on a Monday or Tuesday morning; therefore you may want to call in the afternoons to book an appointment OR use our online booking portal.
Walk-in Clinic: The Hilltop Medical Clinic provides medical services, which are routinely available in primary care doctor's offices. Unfortunately we are not an emergency facility or an essential service and are not equipped to deal with heart attacks, strokes or catastrophic injuries. Please inform reception if your visit is work related (WCB) or a result of a motor vehicle accident. During registration please inform us who your regular family doctor may be if outside the clinic. Patients are seen on a first come first served basis. Your name will be placed on a list in time order when you check in at the clinic. Should there be a long wait you are free to leave for a short period, but please let reception know. We try our best to see everyone before closing. We will advise at check in whether there may be a possibility you may not be seen. We do not do complete check-ups, pap smears, or prenatal visits at the urgent care clinic. We are not able to do forms. You will need to see your family doctor for these types of visits. Please note that medical emergencies may occur that require our doctor's immediate attention or the doctor may be even called away from the clinic requiring the clinic to close. Although rare, we do our best to find a replacement but closing is always a possibility. Abusive or offensive behavior will not be tolerated and you will not be seen or registered.
Cancellations and Appointments no-shows: If you are unable to make your appointment, please cancel in a timely manner so that your appointment may be given to another patient. Failure to cancel your appointment disrupts our schedule and you may be charged for a “missed appointment”.
Prescriptions: Addictive medications such as NARCOTICS or BENZODIAZEPINES are not prescribed in our walk in clinic.
Prescription renewals will not be renewed by telephone. You will have to see your regular family physician or follow up in our walk-in clinic. Please book an appointment to see your doctor at least 2 weeks before you are going to run out.
Lab Results: Lab work and x-rays are usually not available for 4-5 working days. The doctor will notify you of test results if they are ABNORMAL or if a follow up visit is required. Time does not allow us to notify patients with normal results. If you are concerned about the results and haven't heard from the doctor, you may come in for a follow up appointment, or see your regular family doctor who will have received copies of the results.
Our nurses and staff are not authorized to give out test results. Please do not call for this reason.
Repeat Prescriptions: Our clinics do not do prescription renewals over the phone. Depending on the type of medication, your doctor may order “repeats” at the time of writing the prescription. However when these “repeats” are finished, it is time to come in and have your medical condition checked.
